Joshua Kalmar — Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering — CSU Chico

What first pulled me toward engineering wasn't building things.
It was wanting to know why they're built that way.

Joshua Kalmar — maker, fabricator, and ME student. Background in sculpture, blacksmithing, and film fabrication, now channeled into CAD, embedded systems, and hands-on prototyping.

About

Path to Engineering

My background in building things started as a child and grew into my studies of fine art sculpture and fabrication. From there, I worked in many different roles, trying to find my best fit, but always driven by an interest in building efficient, effective systems that achieved real results.

I'm now pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at CSU Chico, after a first degree in sculpture and a decade of hands-on fabrication and operations work. Continuing my path in making and building, with a systems approach towards a brighter future.
